Jack & Dick Folk Duo
Listing Type: Group Members: Jack Shannon & Dick Inglis
|
| In the 1980’s, a group called, “Kristy, Dick and Jack” played in Walla Walla at Merchants and for service clubs, churches, weddings and other get-togethers, and sometimes out-of-town (Pendleton, Tri-Cities) as well.
They played “classical” and popular folk songs, with Jack and Kristy on vocals and guitar, with Dick backing them up on bass.
These were songs that had stood the test of time, such as: Don’t think twice… (Peter, Paul and Mary, and Bob Dylan), Crawl all the way to the river (Oakridge boys), Grow old with me (John Lennon), Dance, little Jean (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Bobby McGee (Janis Joplin) and many more by John Denver, the Kingston Trio and others. Styles range from slow-melodic-flowing to foot-tapping rhythmic to witty/funny to gospel to thoughtful or emotional.
Kristy has moved out of town, but Jack Shannon and Dick Inglis are back with many of the same songs plus a lot of new ones.
A demo CD is available, which previews a few of our songs.
In addition to the above songs, there is also: 1) a gospel set; 2) a set of folk-Christmas songs; and 3) a multi-media set, with pictures projected on a screen during the music.
